L’Australian Academy of Film and Television ha svelato le sue cinquine cinematografiche e televisive; solitamente, le candidature dagli AACTA International Awards sono molto indicative su come potrebbe andare la stagione dei premi e su chi sono i titoli e gli interpreti posizionati meglio nella corsa all’Oscar.
Non è quindi un caso che il Nomadland di Chloé Zhao domini le candidature 2021 con ben 6 nomination (tra cui film, regia, ma anche attori non protagonisti per David Strathairn e Swankie), mentre segue a ruota con 5 menzioni Il processo ai Chicago 7 di Aaron Sorkin (film, regia, sceneggiatura, e doppia candidatura in supporting per Sacha Baron Cohen e Mark Rylance).
I vincitori verranno svelati il 5 marzo durante una cerimonia digitale “a distanza” organizzata a Los Angeles:
