I 45° Césars, i maggiori riconoscimenti del cinema in lingua francese, hanno incoronato I miserabili di Ladj Ly come miglior film dell’anno, mentre L’ufficiale e la spia di Roman Polanski si è “accontentato” di tre premi, tra cui regia e sceneggiatura non originale.
Tre statuette sono anche andate alla commedia nostalgica La Belle Epoque, tra cui sceneggiatura originale a attrice non protagonista a Fanny Ardant, mentre è stato quasi del tutto silenziato Ritratto della giovane in fiamme di Céline Sciamma, riconosciuto solo per il premio alla miglior fotografia.
