‘Nomadland’ è il miglior film per la critica di Chicago e Indiana, ‘First Cow’ vince in Florida

Nomadland continua a riscuotere un grande successo nei circoli della critica americana. Il film di Chloe Zhao è stato eletto come miglior film dell’anno a Chicago e in Indiana, mentre è arrivato ad un passo dal riconoscimento in Florida, dove ha invece trionfato First Cow di Kelly Reichardt. A dimostrazione dell’annata eccellente per le donne dietro allo schermo, la Zhao ha vinto il premio alla regia presso tutti e tre i circoli della critica, con la Reichardt e Regina King tra i runner-up. 

Tra gli altri riconoscimenti, Frances McDormand e Maria Bakalova, la giovane promessa di Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm, vengono premiate presso tutti e tre i circoli, mentre Paul Paci di Sound of Metal ottiene due premi come attore non protagonista. Ottimi risultati anche per gli indie Minari e Never Rarely Sometimes Always. Soul e Wolfwalkers continuano a contendersi i premi al miglior film d’animazione, trionfando alternativamente.
