Phoenix Critics Circle: ‘La favorita’ domina le candidature, ‘Dogman’ tra i film stranieri

La favorita è il film più candidato al premio del circolo della critica di Phoenix con sette nomination, candidati al miglior film insieme al dramedy in costume di Lanthimos ci sono A Star Is Born, First Reformed, Roma e l’ormai sempre più lanciato Vice di Adam McKay.

Diversamente da quanto avviene in altri circoli della critica, Phoenix assegnerà anche premi alla miglior commedia dell’anno, al miglior film di fantascienza, al miglior horror e al miglior film tratto da un fumetto o una graphic novel. Tra gli attori protagonisti è significativa la presenza del neo candidato al SAG John David Washigton per BlacKkKlansman e della messicana Yalitza Aparicio per Roma, in supporting invece ricevono consensi Sam Rockwell per il suo ritratto di George W. Bush in Vice, Micheal B. Jordan per il cinemcomic Black Panther e Claire Foy, ormai unica speranza per First Man in chiave Oscar. Da notare anche la prima candidatura della stagione per Dogman, candidato al miglior film straniero insieme Roma, Un affare di famiglia, Cold War e Burning.
