Alla quarta edizione dei premi assegnati dalla Society of Composers and Lyricists (il sindacato dei compositori e parolieri per il cinema e la tv), vincono un po’ a sorpresa titoli come Nope di Jordan Peele, Everything Everywhere All At Once e il Pinocchio di Guillermo del Toro.
Delle tre colonne sonore sopracitate, solo quella composta dal gruppo dei Son Lux per Everything Everywhere All At Once ha una corrispettiva candidatura all’Oscar. Tra le canzoni originali, vince “Applause” di Diane Warren, scritta e composta per il film Tell It Like a Woman, che batte Rihanna per Black Panther: Wakanda Forever e Lady Gaga per Top Gun: Maverick.
