Ai 36° Scripter Awards, i riconoscimenti alle migliori sceneggiature adattate assegnati ogni anno dall’associazione delle biblioteche della Southern California (USC) vince come da previsioni lo script di American Fiction, curato da Cord Jefferson.
Dopo aver vinto i premi di categoria ai Critics’ Choice Awards e ai Bafta, adesso American Fiction è il film statisticamente favorito all’Academy Award per la miglior sceneggiatura non originale; anche se i risultati dei Writers Guild Awards arriveranno soltanto ad aprile, a cerimonia degli Oscar già terminata.
Nella categoria delle sceneggiature adattate ai 96° Oscar c’è anche Barbie, che nelle precedenti premiazioni concorreva in Original (ai Critics’ Choice Awards aveva addirittura vinto la statuetta): darà del filo da torcere all’acclamato film con Jeffrey Wright e Sterling K. Brown?
